I got the Android 2.1-update1 system update two days ago, but my wife and three of my friends that have Droids have not received it yet. My wife’s phone was bought at the same time as mine, share the same plan, and we share the same last name obviously, so it appears it is very random on who is getting the update and when.
i looked at my phone yesterday and all of a sudden it said that there is a new 2.1 update available. i didnt sign up for anything or put my number anywhere so i think that they are randomly picking people to do it on.

hi! i have a droid and forever been hearing of this “update” and still waiting. when are we finally getting it? i keep checking everyday and says im up to date but i dont have 2.1
So, Im forced to ask how I could sign up to receive test builds…
In the 2.1 Multimedia Dock does the screen go into a screensaver mode with a little clock that moves on a black screen like on the Nexus One?

Verizon’s 2 dropped calls in a year to AT&T’s innumerable dropped calls. I go with Verizon. Although i am unhappy with both of them for different reasons. I want another Droid:(
I had a Omnia and got my fiancee a droid and was really jelous because my contract wasnt renewable for another year. I i called up verizon and bitched them out untill they gave me the phone for the contract price lol
Every phone or phone OS has copyrights, Android has less being open source.
And a company (Verizon) is terrible because they can’t fix a mistake another company (Motorola) made? Get your facts straight.
@y35n00b5 Copy and Paste rights? How does that affect your use of the phone or system at all? Even Apple get sued over patents. Verizon has the best coverage period.
A reason why i think Verizon sucks is because they charge a lot for their services.
You have yet to give a legitimate reason as to why you don’t like the phone or the software. here and example “droid keyboard sucks”.
See? sound reasons something that will effect you’re usage.

So, once again no one care if you like droid or android.
It would be nice to have an Android phone, but I’ve got AT&T and I got my iPhone before I found out that AT&T is releasing 5 Android phones this year. And I just got my iPhone in January, so I gotta wait another 20 or so months lol. I wish there was a way to speed up my contract.
